Boot tweezers and the volume grip

A boot-shaped tip holds several fine lashes in one pinch, which is why volume artists reach for it when building fans in the hand. The curve gives a wider contact area than a straight pair, and the angle keeps the wrist neutral through a long set.

The trade is precision at the isolation stage. A boot tip is clumsy for separating a single natural lash, so most artists keep both: boot for fans, straight for isolation. Stocking one shape and calling it universal is the fastest way to a complaint.

Check the tension before the shape. A soft spring in a boot pair collapses the fan, and a stiff one makes the pinch inconsistent. Twenty open-close cycles in the hand tell you more than the spec sheet.
